How to optimize your Blogspot setting

Right after you create your new blogspot, better if you do some optimation in the blog setting. Because the standart setting is not an optimal setting. Here are what you should do:

1. In the “Basic” setting tab set blog title to a keyword of your blog main topic or what ever keyword that you want to be shown in the search engine result. The title must be 40-65 character, (google only show maximally, 65 characters in its SERP, and yahoo about 115 character including space and punctuation mark). Do not use word “and”, “or” and another word that will be ignored by search engine. Never change your blog title, cause it will make “robot/spider” being confused and your pageRank can drop deeply.
2. In the “add your blog to our listing” option select YES. It will alerts search engines when your blog being updated, also make your blog applied in the blogger main page when you create new post.
   But if you select “NO” blogger will shove “nofollow/noindex” meta-tags in the header template of your blog that will prevent your blog being indexed and crawled by the spider.
3. In the “Publishing” set “notify Weblogs” to “yes” it will send a notification to Weblogs right after you create new post.
4. In the “Formatting” tab ideally set it to 5 – 7 posts being shown in the main .
5. Allow visitor to leave comment and do not restrict it. Also don’t use “pop up window” to show the comment, because it will prevent the spider crawling content of the comments.
6. Site feed. RSS is a “ rich site summary” or “ really simple syndication” or “rdf site summary”. Basically, RSS is “ a way to stream up the minutes news and updated on your blog”. Your RSS feed address is “nameofyourblog.blogspot.com/atom.xml.
   
   And must be changed when you burn feed at feedburner.com. Do not set the site feed to “full description” but set it to “short description” so that the readers have to visit your blog if they want to read the full version of your post.



7. Google Sitemaps
   
   remember to submit your blog to http://www.google.com/webmaster/sitemaps
   Sitemaps is a listing of every pages of your blog. By create a site map, your blog will more friendly for Google search engine. If your blog has many images, you can allow the spider to crawl that images by checking the box beside “enhanced image search” so the image from your blog will be shown in the Google search image result < http://www.image.google.com >



8. Technorati
   
   Every blogger in this planet join to technorati < http://www.technorati.com >. Technorati is the blog searching Godfather, Tecnorati is a real-time search engine that always tracking everything in the blog world. Technorati will otomaticaly get notification from blog right after it is updated.
